Imagine living in your own corner of a Portuguese Paradise. Imagine waking up to a view that stretches across six acres of your own established gardens to the Serra das Galegas hills beyond. Imagine swimming in your own pool, and then having breakfast on the beautiful sun terrace, drinking orange juice squeezed from fruit from your own trees. That’s what’s on offer with this stunning classic quinta, within easy reach of Lisbon and the coast. The main house is a large villa built in traditional Portuguese "Suave" style over 60 years ago. It is on a single floor comprising: lounge, conservatory, 4 bedrooms, bathroom, modern spacious fully fitted kitchen with central island and all surfaces finished in Brazilian marble, dressing room, workroom, main entrance hall and a side entrance hall with staircase leading to a very large attic space, easily converted into three or more additional rooms. Behind the house is a garage with its own bathroom!
The second house is a romantic cottage with 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Completely separate from the Main House with its own pátio and within a walled, mature garden. South-facing and with lovely views, it is perfect for visitors, staff accommodation, granny flat or providing income as a holiday rental.
The grounds are as interesting as the houses - so much variety. There are outbuildings originally built for animals, a large adega (winery), vegetable garden, one large and two small areas with grapevines, three wells in addition to the pictured water mine, olives, 20+ fruit trees (Orange, Lemon, Apple, Pear, Fig, Peach, Loquat, Cherry, Kiwi). The whole is terraced, paved with authentic Portuguese calçada or pathed, where needed, and is a mixture of garden, cultivation and a bit of wilderness. No insecticides or chemicals have been used here for almost 20 years.
The location is a rural, peaceful village. It is a friendly place with a small shop nearby and the property is not overlooked. The map location illustrates this. Lots of open countryside, where dogs can be walked for miles off lead. There are local shops, local markets, supermarkets and restaurants within 5 Km, and two big shopping malls within 10 Km. There is a large country park just a few minutes’ walk away. It is a tranquil haven that is still close to all amenities. The nearest beaches are at Ericeira, 20 minutes away, and with lots of Atlantic coastline to choose from. And then there is Lisbon on the doorstep.
